Gayle Tuttle discusses the role caregivers play in medication management with Today’s Caregiver
Friday, July 28, 2017
spencer Health Solutions, LLC’s VP of Market Innovation, Gayle Tuttle, sat down with Gary Barg, Editor-in-Chief of Today’s Caregiver, to explain the role technology plays in assisting caregivers, and the responsibility caregivers have in helping their loved one’s plan and manage multiple medications without seeming intrusive.
Gayle, a caregiver herself, notes that 74 percent of caregivers are actively involved in assisting with medications, and medication adherence can be a key to helping patients stay in their home as long as possible. Spencer is an in-home medication dispensing device about the size of a coffeemaker that allows caregivers, pharmacists, and care providers to engage with the patient and encourage them to change their behavior, to stay adherent, and to take their medications on time.
“We know that people are most likely to stick with technology that adapts to their daily routines rather than adding new tasks.” – Gayle Tuttle
